Retraining the Racehorse

Check out Hunter's progress.

From 2021 to 2025 this boy spent his life on the track earning over $64,000 and taking 1st place on three races.

He know how to GO!

After retiring, Hunter came to WRR where he has been transitioning into his new career as a trail horse.

He has learned a nice walk, trot, whoa, and back up. His canter is coming along, but he is still learning that canter does not mean GO all or nothing.

Hunter NOT available for adoption because we have already found his home with our long time volunteer, Lauren.

We just wanted to share his progress with you.

OTTB make such great horses it just takes time and patience.

Rest in Peace --- Phoebe --- 1999 - 2026

We are devastated to share the passing of our sweet Phobe. Phoebe was more than just a horse to White Rock, she was our family.

Phoebe is an icon that helped bring White Rock to existence. She was purchased by Isabel as a yearling and brought to the ranch upon Isabel's retirement

We are devastated to share the passing of our sweet Phoebe. Phoebe was more than just a horse to White Rock, she was our family.

Phoebe is an icon that helped bring White Rock to existence. She was purchased by Isabel as a yearling and brought to the ranch upon Isabel's retirement as her personal riding horse. Although Phoebe did not grow to be the big trail horse that she expected she turned into something far more special.

Phoebe could make anyone smile. She could make a beginner or advanced rider giggle like child. She had a huge personality and taught herself tricks!

If she would have been permitted, we are fairly certain that she would have joined us at the table for meals and sat by the fireplace.

White Rock won't feel the same without her.

Rest in Peace, Phoebe

4️⃣ They’re entertaining – Chickens have big personalities and provide endless laughs with their quirky antics.
5️⃣ Easy keepers – Chickens are relatively low-maintenance and adapt well to ranch life.

7️⃣ Great for kids – Chickens teach responsibility, compassion, and where food comes from.
8️⃣ They help the soil – Scratching and pecking naturally aerates the ground.
9️⃣ Many breeds, many styles – From fluffy to fancy, chickens come in endless colors and personalities. 🐣

There’s something truly special about riding through the desert 🐎

The quiet stretches for miles, broken only by the soft rhythm of hoofbeats and the gentle breeze rolling over the sand. No crowds, no noise—just you, your horse, and endless open space. It’s the kind of peace you don’t realize you need until you’re out there, taking it all in.

The desert has a way of slowing everything down, reminding you to breathe a little deeper and appreciate the simple moments. Golden sunlight, wide skies, and the steady partnership of your horse beneath you… it doesn’t get much better than that.

Where’s your favorite place to ride? 🌄
